My Happy Place

I love seeing everyone’s sewing space posts, so I thought I would let you in to mine. I have a dedicated sewing room, which also houses most of my shoes. In the closet. Hidden. Because it is a crime to have as many pairs as I do.

First up, my cutting table. Hubby spotted this at Costco a couple years ago, and it is awesome. It has a large cutting surface, and cubby holes on all sides. I store my patterns here, and all UFO’s. It also has all of my notions, and whatever else gets lost on those shelves.

Speaking of UFO’s.. I have a couple.. They will stay folded up on a shelf until I decide what to do with them SMH!

Next up is my sewing table. This is from Ikea, and it has held up well. It has cubby holes as well (can you tell I needed storage?), and houses all of my text books and reference books.

This is my favorite text book from college. It is a fabric swatch book. I have my own swatch book for fabrics in my stash, but this is a huge help when I have mystery fabric or am thinking about future projects. Look at me putting those fashion studies to use! HA! The title is Swatch Reference Guide for Fashion Fabrics. I vividly remember spending 3 hours taping each fabric swatch to the corresponding description. UGH!

Other books that stay by my side: Pantone sketch book (in case inspiration strikes.. yeah right.), The $100 Start Up, and a notebook. I’m an avid lister. I have 1000 notebooks, and lists for days. It’s been joked about that I could never get away with murder because there would be a list for that.. “Get Bullets. Clean Gun.” etc.. LOL!

  1. I always like to see other people’s set ups. I just started blogging so I don’t have pictures of mine yet. But I luckily have a dedicated room as well. Table I got at Ikea with drawers. TV in the room so my husband occasionally joins me and plays video games while I sew. 🙂

    1. Thanks for commenting! I need silence when I’m working most of the time, it really relaxes me. But I do have a small tv in my room as well. Good luck in your blogging adventures!
