DIY Anitra Jumpsuit

Hey There!

Happy Monday! Today is a unique post because it features an outfit that I would wear on any given day, to work, to run errands.. I can see myself in this for any occasion.

I have been really trying to make wardrobe staples that are true to my style versus garments that look great in blog pics only. This has been a goal of mine every year, and with pregnancy I just cannot waste time sewing things that aren’t practical for me.

Insert the Anitra Jumpsuit by StyleSewMe Patterns. When Eryn approached me with her newest pattern, I had to get my hands on it! It is right up my alley. Flowy, lots of drape, but frames my bump well. She hit the nail on the head with this one!

I made no design changes other than I took a 2.5 inch wedge out of the center front pant piece, and 2 inch wedge out of the center back pant piece to take a little of the bulk out. I could have shortened the pant pieces as Eryn is tall and her patterns are drafted for a bit taller woman (I think?). Now, disclaimer… MOST pattern companies draft their patterns for a woman that is about 5 ft 6in. I am 5 ft 3 in so I have to shorten lots of things. For Eryn’s patterns this would be no different. Just wanted to put that out there lol.

I am really pleased with the overall fit and length of my Anitra Jumpsuit. I used a navy colored lightweight jersey knit that I picked up from The Loft in LA. It has an amazing drape, and I knew I needed a light and flowy fabric to create a nice drape on the pants.

So, this week was a struggle. I also had time to look at my pregnancy app (a luxury these days lol) and realized I am in my third trimester this week! EEK! No wonder I have been getting exhausted more than the last few months. Anyway, this is why we have inside pics this week. No time or energy to make it outside haha! You won’t judge me though *wink wink*

Have a great week everyone!
