DIY Floral Maxi Skirt

Hi Dolls!

Super quick post today.. Channeling my inner Bohemian Queen today. IT IS HOT! Like over 100 degrees hot already here in Vegas, and I don’t have the patience. Lots of pool days on the horizon because that’s the only thing we have energy to do with baby lol. Hopefully I will be a tan bombshell in the coming weeks haha!

This is a self drafted pleated skirt. I wanted it to be super full and flowy so I could get away with wearing shorts underneath (and so I could “breathe” let’s be honest!). I just kept pleating until I got to my waist measurement, added a waistband and a zip, and voila! Eryn has a really simple tutorial on her blog, and she includes a side slit for max airflow LMAO!

This Floral Rayon was on the sale remnant table at Michael Levine’s. SCORE! It is a really good quality rayon, and has the softest hand. I don’t think it is online since it was part of a sale, but if you’re ever in LA be sure to stop by and check out those remnant tables. They always have great stuff, and not those skimpy “under 1 yard” remnants..

I have been oogling over this brand Show Me Your Mumu lately. They have awesome prints, and their stuff looks so comfy. Here is my ode to them. Let me know what you think below!

  1. Over 100deg!!??!
Girl I would be in a pool too if I were you but you’re already a tan bombshell 🙂
Have you ever played with Ankara print before? I’ve seen maxi skirts made out of it and they’re so beautiful. This beauty you made here reminds me of them.
xxoo, stay out of the heat!

    1. Thank you!! Lol yes girl it’s unbearable and it’s not even summer yet 🙁 .. I do have some Ankara fabric straight from the Motherland & it’s so pretty. I have so many ideas for what to do with it but it’s so hard for me to cut into without changing my mind a bunch of times!!! I need to just do it. Lol

  2. Such a pretty skirt! I like the pairing with the top. This heat is taking a toll on me already and we have a few more months to go, lol!
